Objects from the Rays opening match at the renowned temple

The opening match of the Rays of Tampa Bay did not take place at the Tropicana Field in Saint-Petersburg, where the latter have been playing since their arrival in major baseball. No, rather, Tampa Bay played his first game of the season at George Mr. Steinbrenner Field, who is the home of the level A subsidiary of New York Yankees, the Tampa Tampons, and the home of the Bronx bombers during the spring camp.

The Rays are playing there this season due to the damage suffered on the roof of Tropicana Field after Hurricane Milton has made the stadium impracticable.

It is not often that the MLB teams settle in a stadium of minor leagues for a season, and even less in the stadium of a division rival. But this is the situation in which Tampa Bay must sail this season.

And now the temple of renowned baseball wants to highlight this unique situation. Indeed, the Rays announced that Cooperstown had asked for memories of their first home game on March 28 against the Colorado rockies.

To commemorate the historic day, the lines sent to the renowned temple, in particular a ball launched by Ryan Pepiot, an alignment card, a printed ticket, a match program Inside Pitch and pointing cards of Dewayne Staats.

The Rays were committed to playing the Tropicana Field until 2028. We do not know what they will do later, but the major baseball clearly indicated that it wanted the situation of the stadium to improve.

With this in mind, the awful home of the Rays will have a new roof, thanks to an allowance of $ 22.5 million on the municipal council of Saint-Petersburg. We expect it to be ready for the regular 2026 season.

In the meantime, the Rays began a series of thirteen home games yesterday (Tuesday) against the Angels of Los Angeles.
