Eagles – Steelers (35-13): AJ Brown inflicts a Pickett on the Steelers

Philadelphia Eagles (7-0) – Pittsburgh Steelers (2-6): 35-13

In this honorary duel for the title of “King of Pennsylvania”, it was the Eagles who got the better of the Steelers, remaining the only undefeated team in the NFL. Philly’s victory was airborne, and mainly rested on two men: Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown. In the first half alone the two managed three touchdowns, sealing the fate of the match before the second act. Holders have not even played the last ten minutes, a symbol of the “easy” victory of the Eagles.

Kenny Pickett had a good game given the lack of ground and line support, but it was far from enough to keep up with the pace set by Nick Sirianni’s men. The special teams should be mentioned, since they indirectly resulted in 10 points for Pittsburgh.

With this new victory, Philadelphia is more than ever at the top of the NFC, while Pittsburgh sees the last playoff hopes go away. We will have to build the attack week after week, and help Najee Harris regain confidence.

The AJ Brown Show

Throughout the first half, AJ Brown tormented the opposing defense, scoring three long-range touchdowns on three fairly similar “Go” routes. Monstrous in one against one and well helped by Jalen Hurts author of superb passes, he scored all of his team’s points in the first act (21-7).

The Steelers answered the first touchdown with a pass from Chase Claypool to Derek Watt, they did no more. Totally beaten in the trenches, unable to find space in the air, Mike Tomlin’s men are almost lucky to return to the locker room with 10 points (21-10).

A second act in control

From the first drive of the second half, Philadelphia buried all hope for Pittsburgh with a new touchdown. Miles Sanders regains his explosiveness and Hurts ends up in the air with Zach Pascal (28-10).

The Steelers score a field goal in stride and recover the ball, maintaining the hope of a return. Javon Hargrave will end this wavering with a “strip-sack”, giving the ball back to Philly. A long-range reception from Brown later, Miles Sanders was in the perfect position to score the winning touchdown (35-13).

The Philadelphia defense multiplies the sacks, before an interception by CJ Gardner-Johnson and the Eagles allow themselves to put Gardner Minshew on the ground for the end of the game. Checkmate, and a perfect record for Philadelphia.
