Nothing is going well in Oakland.
It seems pretty clear that the franchise is going nowhere and the fans are gone.
Since the start of the season, the Athletics have welcomed 68,572 fans to the Oakland Coliseum for an average of 11,428 supporters per match.
Obviously, there is the opening match which attracts crowds, but not the rest, it got tough for the Californian formation.
For Tuesday’s game, the A’s had 3,407 fans for the game against the Cleveland Guardians.
It must be said that the Golden State Warriors in the NBA were at home, a few minutes from the stadium. Much more is at stake for the team battling for a playoff berth.
More interesting to attend than an early season duel (already) to forget for Oakland.
Better in the AAA
Of the 13 games that were shown at AAA level on Tuesday, 11 had more spectators in the stands than the A’s-Guardians game.
Of those 11 games, four had more than twice the crowd at the Oakland Coliseum.
Already at the end of the last season, commissioner Robert Manfred was not very optimal to see the A’s stay in their current home.
It is possible to imagine that optimism has not won over Mr. Manfred in recent months.
The search for a new home continues all the same in Oakland and Las Vegas, mainly.
