Tough start to 2022 for MLB fans in Canada

The lockout that is currently paralyzing MLB is endless. Clearly, we will not be entitled to a 162-game season in major league baseball, which is a shame for all fans.

And for Canada’s ball fans, it’s sad news again.

If we start from the premise that ball fans across the country mostly support teams from here, 2022 has been (so far) difficult for fans from here.

First, there was the news of the end of the joint custody project a few weeks ago. It was a blow, especially in Quebec.

Then, we understood that the season would once again not be normal in the MLB, which will cut games.

Why is it worse than elsewhere for the Blue Jays? It’s not necessarily the worst situation, but the club, after almost two years on the road, are finally ready to come home and win with a big club… but they can’t.

Ben Nicholson-Smith made an excellent tweet, precisely. And he’s absolutely right: Canadian fans deserve better.

Obviously, we know that it’s a blow for everyone, but let’s say that in Canada, after two years without baseball (and without really being able to see it effectively in the United States most of the time), it hits differently .

2022 will be the third year in a row that there will not be 81 games in Toronto. It’s a funny time, we’ll tell each other, and the fans are fed up.

The day it will start again, will there be a big craze in the Queen City? I imagine so because of the right club…unless the frustration with MLB isn’t too great over a huge labor dispute.
