Nice atmosphere within the Paycom Center. Inside the Thunder's den, just under 7,000 people witnessed the Oklahoma City Blue's victory in the second round of the G League final against the Maine Celtics (99-89). The two teams are now tied, before a final match scheduled for Monday.
With his 12 points (4/12 on shots), 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 blocks in 33 minutes, Ousmane Dieng was one of the main contributors to his team's victory. Coming close to a double-double (10 points and 9 rebounds) and still starting alongside his compatriot, Olivier Sarr was one of six players on the team to reach or exceed 10 points.
The beauty in Portland… in Maine
A team, which had distanced itself from the first quarter (25-14), led by the skill of Lindy Waters III (27 points, 10/13 on shots including 5/7 from distance). He found himself embroiled in a long-distance duel with Drew Peterson, author of 29 points opposite, and supported by Jordan Walsh and Joe Wieskamp (13 points each). Neemias Queta and Tony Snell did not shine with their skill (3/13 combined).
The Blue showed a necessary reaction after being beaten by 20 points (86-106) during Game 1. Ousmane Dieng had scored 15 points in this first match, but lacked skill (6/17), like his racquet friend (9 points to 3/10).
We remind you that the two Tricolores could succeed Sekou Doumbouya, winner last year of the G-League with the Delaware Blue Coats. Axel Toupane was also part of the Toronto 905 squad, champion in 2017, but he did not participate in the playoffs, being called up by the Pelicans to end the season.
