Kevin Durant: “It’s nice to give myself screens, but I don’t need them”

Devin Booker will end up believing that he is cursed… After having scored 62 points in the defeat against the Pacers, here he is who scores 44 points against the Magic. The outcome is the same: a defeat. By his side, Kevin Durant only scored 15 points, 7 out of 12 on shots, and Frank Vogel blamed his teammates for it.

“The Magic defended well on him to keep him away from the ball, but we also need to give him better screens and find him good positions” explains Frank Vogel at a press conference. An analysis that the All-Star winger does not share.

“I don’t need screens. It’s nice to make screens for myself, but I don’t need them” he assures. “I don't really feel like that's why I didn't get any shots. I just feel like the pace of the game doesn't always allow me to shoot. It’s just about being efficient with the shots I get. It's basketball in general. I'm not going to try to force things because I didn't take any shots. »

For Durant, the Suns' real problem against the Magic is lost balls. Phoenix loses 23, including 7 just for him!

“I wasn't very smart with the ball…I take responsibility for that because I lost the ball early on. It kind of inspired my teammates… I'm a leader by example when I do that, and it can ruin a whole game. I think it sets a bad example for the team and everyone feeds off it and then it snowballs. That’s really what lost the match.”
