When we think of a pitch entry song, a few classics come to mind. Enter Sandman, Welcome to the Jungle, Hells Bells, Baby Shark, etc.
And to this we must add Narco. Edwin Diaz’s song has come a long way in the past year.
When the Mets pitcher was injured in the World Baseball Classic, his brother Alexis was seen being offered the chance in the next Puerto Rican game to enter the field under Narco. It was a beautiful moment, but…
Ultimately, it’s not his song. And he knows it.
So he had to find the right song to enter the field as the Cincinnati Reds’ trusted reliever.
His big brother, who has free time at the moment, therefore got on the case and found him the right song to enter the game well this year.
Less than 24 hours from the start of the season last week, Edwin sent her the song and immediately Alexis claimed that was what it took.
There she is. Her name is Matador.
What we quickly notice is that the song begins with trumpets. This is clearly the basis for a closer which bears the name Diaz.
Of course, you tell me.
We also notice that she is catchy. I have the feeling that it’s difficult to play the baboune while listening to this song, which has a bit of a family resemblance with Narco.
Well done from Edwin… who may hope to hear it at Citi Field one day.
