Last year, the Blue Jays began to claim launchers from the ballotting as if there was no tomorrow. The mentality? On the gang, there is one that will give something.

The guy mainly launched in Buffalo to end the season, but he was entitled to two (difficult) outings. It did not impress anyone and in 2025, he started the season with the bison.
Even before launching in Buffalo, Lucas was recalled. He ended up taking the place of Max Scherzer in the rotation with the mandate to just maintain the club afloat during his games.
And let's say it works.
In two outings against Mackenzie Gore and Garrett Crochet, the Blue Jays of Easton Lucas have two gains. And the two are on the launcher's file, which gave no point in 10.1 work sleeves. Tuesday, in Boston, he spent eight guys in the mitten.
When Max Scherzer fell in battle, we wondered if the club was in depth, so early during the season, to recover. After all, Jake Bloss is not ready to go up, Alek Manoah is still injured, some guys are not 100 % following the camp …
But Lucas was ready.
Will his beautiful sequence last? Who knows. But even if he had to return to Buffalo for the rest of things, he proved to be able to bring depth when the Blue Jays needed it.
And for an organization that wants to win like the Blue Jays, it's important. So much the better for him and for the club.
