Dusty Baker signs with the Giants

A few weeks ago, the possibility of Dusty Baker finding work as a consultant outside of Houston surfaced.

His relationship with GM Dana Brown wasn't the best.

Because even if Baker no longer wanted to manage a club with all that that entails on a daily basis, he is still a baseball guy with great resources.

You could think that as an advisor, a club would want to hire him.

The name of the San Francisco Giants has already been circulated, Baker having already been one of the great managers of the Giants. And that's it.

Bob Nightengale says the California club managed to catch him.

The future Hall of Famer, who has a ring as Astros manager in 2022, will be a special assistant to Farhan Zaidi, the president of baseball operations.

He will also assist Larry Baer as president of the club as such.

This means that the Giants finally managed to convince a big name to sign in town… but he is not an active player. But OK.

I have a feeling he could bring an interesting voice to the Giants. Great hire, then.
