The Kings lose Malik Monk for the play-in…

The Kings are going a little better in the end of the season, but not all the signals are green. Sacramento will have to do without Malik Monk For at least two weeks.

The back was injured in the calf in the first quarter on Monday against the pistons and suffers from an elongation ESPN ad. It is a blow for Malik Monk and for Sacramento, who loses his offensive joker for the end of the regular season, but especially the play-in (or even more in case of qualification).

If the Kings are officially assured of participating in the final stages following the defeat of the Suns last night, the absence of Malik Monk falls in the worst time. The former Kentucky signs his best career season with minute records per game, points and assists. His return to the role of sixth man lately will leave the bench of Doug Christie very impoverished.

Monk after Laravia and Murray

Last Sunday, the Californian technician had used a reduced rotation during the victory against the riders, in the spirit of what we could see in the end of the season. Only Malik Monk had played more than seven minutes out of the bench, the five holders spending at least forty minutes on the prosecution.

Especially since the infirmary was already occupied by Jake Laravia, whose thumb injury is more serious than expected and was diagnosed as an incomplete fracture of the scaphoid, and Keegan Murray hit on the back. Their return date was not communicated.

Without Malik Monk, the Rookie Devin Carter should be more empowered (18 minutes last night against Denver). The Kings also signed on Wednesday The back terence davisalready spent two years in Sacramento between 2021 and 2023, to complete the last place of their workforce.

Sacramento still has to play two regular season games against the Clippers and Suns, with no other immediate objective than receiving in the first game of the Play-in. The Kings are currently having a moment a time ahead of the Mavericks, beaten on their side on Wednesday for the return of Luka Da DaLlas to Dallas.
