The Blazers ready to drop Anfernee Simons and the 3rd choice of Draft to recover a winger?

Since the order of the Draft 2023 is known, one wonders what the Blazers will make their 3rd choice. Will they keep it, to select Scoot Henderson or Brandon Miller, or will they exchange it, to recover an NBA player already referenced? Their “franchise player”, Damian Lillard, was more of the type to prefer the second option a month ago…

According to The Athleticthe track leading to a transfer is precisely far from being ruled out and our colleagues bluntly specify that the leaders of Portland could pair their 3rd draft pick with Anfernee Simonswith the goal of obtaining an “elite” level winger, in other words, All-Star caliber.

Despite statistics of 19.3 points, 4.0 assists and 2.6 rebounds on average for two seasons, the young “Ant” could therefore be sacrificed to better surround Damian Lillard, as expected a month ago. Almost 24 years old, he was re-signed last summer until 2026 by the Blazers, for an amount of around 100 million dollars.

It remains to be seen whether this “package” will interest a team to the point of giving Portland a confirmed player and likely to play the lieutenants of “Dame”. According to The Athleticyou should however already forget the option Mikal Bridgesbecause the net would not be interested in a transfer of their star winger (26.1 points on average since joining Brooklyn at the “trade deadline”).
