Race to the MVP | Stephen Curry votes for Joel Embiid

Even if there are still three or four games to play depending on the franchise, the race for the MVP is undoubtedly frozen in the minds of the hundred or so voters. They are three favorites for this trophy: Joel Embiid never titled, and Nikola Jokic and Giannis Antetokounmpo, who are each aiming for a 3rd crown. In recent days, the debate has taken on a whole new dimension as the outcome of the ballot seems undecided, and this Tuesday, it is Stephen Curry who gives his opinion on the trophy.

“I would say Joel” responds the leader of the Warriors to Bleacher Report. “Whatever you choose, it will be compared to Jokic or Giannis. But Joel took a leap forward that few suspected because he was already overbearing. This leap forward turned heads, and put Philly in a very good position. If I had the chance to choose, it would be him.

At the last ESPN score, Joel Embiid had 790 points and 40 first places (out of 100 possible), and he would only be ahead of Nikola Jokic, the reigning double MVP by… 2 small points! A Nikola Jokic who would inherit 42 first places (for 788 points, therefore). The podium would be completed by Giannis Antetokounmpo with 612 points and 18 first places.
