Novak Djokovic and Nikola Jokic join celebrations in Serbia

Dennis Schröder and his teammates received a warm welcome upon their return to Germany. It was even crazier for David Bertans and Latvia, awaited by hundreds of thousands of people in the streets of Riga, who came to celebrate the surprising and beautiful 5th place of the national team during the World Cup.

In Belgrade, there were also a lot of people celebrating Serbia’s silver medal.

Winner of his 24th Grand Slam tournament, at the end of which he also paid tribute to Kobe Bryant, Novak Djokovic joined the party, joining Svetislav Pesic’s team, Borisa Simanic also being present following his kidney removal during the campaign.

“There are rare moments when we are left speechless. I’m trembling and I don’t know what to say, even though I have so much to say.” thus launched the tennis player, taken over by Eurohoopswith tears in his eyes. “First of all, I would like to congratulate the basketball players on their phenomenal success. Not just this year, but throughout history, and I thank them for accepting me into this celebration, to spend time together tonight.”

“It’s the realization of a childhood dream because, as a child, like many people of my generation and other generations, I was present in the crowd and I celebrated the country’s great medals in basketball, water polo, volleyball and other sports that represented Serbia in the world »he added.

The party also continued for the Serbian team, still in the company of Novak Djokovic but also with Nikola Jokic, who for his part preferred to skip the World Cup after the very long season (and the title) of the Nuggets, came to celebrate the silver medal of his comrades.
