Nikola Jovic continues his funny apprenticeship in Miami

After several “DNPs”, Nikola Jovic had found Miami's major five against Milwaukee. He then took the opportunity to have the best game of his NBA career, with 24 points at 5/8 by far.

The young 20-year-old Serbian remained the starter against the Sixers, just before the break from All-Star Weekend, but this time he was limited to 3 points in 14 minutes, due to fouls.

“Either I start or I don’t play” he summarizes to the Sun Sentinel. “It’s pretty crazy.”

His playing time depends on the trips to the infirmary of Jimmy Butler and Caleb Martin, and Nikola Jovic must therefore learn on a dotted basis, depending on the opportunities offered by Erik Spoelstra.

“I have to learn and I have to be ready whenever I have an opening. I work hard, as I always do. I think everyone sees my progress. I want to play, that’s the most important thing for me. But I feel like as long as they believe in me and I believe in them, it's going to work out in the end.” he sums it up like this.

Patience, therefore…

“I work a lot, especially the last month, the last two or three months” he concludes. “I don’t take days off. When the team has a day off, it's a work day for me. »
