The Nets change artists for their next jersey

After paying tribute this season to Basquiat for their City Edition jersey, the Nets entrusted KAWS with the design of their City Edition 2023/24 jersey. His signature is visible on the shorts, and the artist said he was very proud to have been chosen for this more than original model.

“Proud to call Brooklyn home, I was thrilled the Nets asked me to create a new design for their set,” he explains. “The history, community and passion of this neighborhood create an energy that inspires my studio, players and fans. My design aims to capture the excitement we feel daily as we walk through Brooklyn. »

In the colors and the font, we find the spirit of his works at the crossroads of street culture and pop culture.

“Brooklyn is home to some of the world’s greatest designers in all areas of culture, including fashion and the arts, and we are driven by this unique ability to marry basketball with the best of our neighborhood” writes Andrew Karson, vice president of BSE Global, owner of the Nets. “This collaboration is a continuation of our partnerships with local legends to share with the world what makes Brooklyn so special. KAWS has a long history of creating in Brooklyn, and as world-renowned talent and one of the most in-demand artists of our time, he was our first choice to be our next City Edition partner. »
