It might seem like a joke, an April Fool’s joke or a game of NBA 2K, but the very serious Shams Charania reports that Kyrie Irving contacted LeBron James to convince him to join him at the Mavericks! We must remember that LeBron is an absolute fan of the Cowboys, and if this rumor is correct, it is almost utopia since Irving is a free agent, and LeBron is under contract with the Lakers.
Which means that for this association to resurrect, Irving must extend to the Mavericks, and the Lakers must agree to transfer LeBron to Dallas. Provided of course that the quadruple NBA champion is OK to join the Mavericks, but also that Mark Cuban offers the right “package” to convince the Lakers. THE Bleacher Report also reports that the boss of the Mavericks had considered making an offer for LeBron last season when the Lakers were at their worst.
On arrival, that’s a lot of “if”, and we can even add one more: if Luka Doncic does not go the opposite way, it’s not even worth discussing! However, our colleague ensures that Irving has in mind to set up a Big Three with Doncic and LeBron…
Clearly, we are swimming in delirium, but with Irving, it is no longer really surprising.
