While he was drafted in 6th position in 2019, landing at Wolves in an exchange with Dario Saric and the 11th choice of the vintage (Cameron Johnson), Jarrett Culver never managed to get his career off the ground.
Plagued by various physical problems and his clumsiness (40ù shooting success including 28% from 3-pointers), he was thus sent to Memphis last summer, along with Juancho Hernangomez, in exchange for Patrick Beverley. However, he failed to shine more in Tennessee, still being clumsy on his low playing time.
At 23, the former Texas Tech has no time to lose, but he doesn’t have a lot of options either. The Grizzlies had thus given up the fourth year of his rookie contract, leaving him “free agent”.
And since then, no team had offered a firm contract to Jarrett Culver, who has finally signed a “two-way contract” with the Hawks.
He will therefore evolve between the G-League and the NBA in Atlanta, in a team that does not really lack rears / wingers (Bogdan Bogdanovic, De’Andre Hunter, Moe Harkless, AJ Griffin, Justin Holiday…).
