New member of the Lakers, Gabe Vincent will try to bring to California some of this famous “Heat culture” in which he was immersed for four seasons.
Under the orders of Erik Spoelstra and in contact withUdonis Haslem, the 27-year-old “combo guard” was thus able to observe from the inside the specificity of this Florida philosophy. Having, at the same time, numerous anecdotes to define it to the greatest number of people.

“ From what I remember we weren’t playing hard enough “, says Gabe Vincent. “ At the time, I was on a two-way contract and I hadn’t necessarily played that match, but our energy level and our effort weren’t enough. I believe the coach said certain things but it was not completely integrated by the group. I don’t know if it was fatigue, there are a number of things that come into play in an NBA season, especially in the bubble. Sometimes you need the spark to be lit for you and [Udonis Haslem] did it. It is to his credit that he has the ability to know when more needs to be done. »
But Udonis Haslem’s chair throws are not always synonymous with success because, a year later, during the 2021 playoffs, his gesture failed to prevent the Heat from being swept by the Bucks in the first round…
