Three women come to file a complaint against the University of Vermont. Why ? Because they explain that they were sexually assaulted there during their studies, blaming the faculty for its “deliberate indifference to student-to-student harassment, sexual assault, and drug use, which created a discriminatory and sexually hostile environment, in which female students were at increased risk of sexual assault and, once assaulted, had no valid means of redress. »
The three plaintiffs thus ensure that the university has protected the fraternities and the sports teams on campus each time acts of sexual assault have been reported.
One of the three young women thus accuses Anthony Lamb, her boyfriend at the time, of having raped her in September 2019. The basketball player is not, however, the subject of the complaint, which focuses on the response of the leaders of the University of Vermont, who encouraged the young woman to negotiate an agreement to seal the deal.
This “amicable agreement” would thus have had the aim, for the university, of limiting the consequences for the star of his basketball team, who had, by virtue of this agreement, to avoid contacting his former girlfriend, to to go to the gym during the hours when she trained there, also forcing her to follow a “healthy male identity program” and to skip a few isolated sporting events, where the young woman could be.
Having now joined the rotation of Steve Kerr, Anthony Lamb formally denies the accusation.
“Allegations made against me in 2019 that recently resurfaced are totally false”he replied in a press release. “I have always been fully cooperative regarding the alleged incident, and have welcomed any investigation into it. Simply put, I have never committed a sexual assault. »
