Anthony Edwards must let go in attack

Are the Wolves going to tender the other day tonight for the second leg of their series against the Nuggets? Rudy Gobert’s teammates remain on two big spankings suffered in Colorado, and Chris Finch awaits a reaction from his players. Especially since they have had time, for two days, to get used to the altitude, and to recover from the many trips of the last week.

“We took a lot of shots that we hadn’t really worked on” regrets the Wolves manager about Game 1. “Particularly trying to get them out. Maybe it’s a bit down to nervousness, going into the game and seeing the ball go in to calm down. I don’t think we handled their defensive changes very well. This is another reason. Generally speaking, this has been a problem at times. We need more movement. »

Anthony Edwards allowed to play 1-on-2 or 1-on-3

What Chris Finch also wants to see is aggression in Anthony Edwards. The spectacular full-back/winger played with the handbrake when he has the qualities to punch through the defense, and put defenders on their heels.

“I would like to see more 1-on-2 or 1-on-3, just to get to the heart of the defence” continues the coach. “He’s really good at getting in there, and getting out to transition. What would help our guys is the rebound. He takes rebounds at a high level. We must take them and go now! »

It was via the press that Anthony Edwards learned that his coach wanted, roughly speaking, that he rush into the pile.

“I’m glad to hear that, and I didn’t know he said that. We had a good time yesterday. We moved on.” he thus replied.

Unlike his teammates, who preferred to minimize the Game 1 crash, Anthony Edwards was on his side very upset… “It’s only my second series in my career. I overreact to everything! I don’t know how to do otherwise… It’s impossible for us to lose Game 2. That’s what crosses my mind. »

And what did he learn from this first round? “They pushed us back and forth. They walked around… I would say it will take some big mistakes, or something like that, to get into the game. »
