Chris Sale: Red Sox respond to teams wanting to get him

Ever since Chris Sale signed his big contract with the Red Sox, he hasn’t delivered the goods.

It’s not because of his performance, but because the pitcher is constantly on the sidelines. Whether it’s his Tommy John surgery or his other health issues, he’s not on the mound often.

In any case, whoever will be a free agent in 2025 shouldn’t have a big market value, considering the fact that it’s been quite a while since he’s pitched on a regular basis.

And that’s why teams call to inquire about the price to pay to (potentially) get him out of Boston.

Please note: it is important to qualify that the club is not actively seeking to exchange him. The launcher has not been placed on the market.

That said, Chaim Bloom is ready to listen.

If you ask me, no one is going to offer the Red Sox enough to get him out of town. I see him staying there… unless the club is even more in “save money” mode than I thought.

If a starter were to leave (the Sox like the depth of their rotation), maybe Nick Pivetta might be a more logical candidate.

His departure could fill needs elsewhere, but I think it’s important for the Sox to have a good rotation of starters.

To be continued, but this is the first time that we have seen the Red Sox open the door to trade the famous left-handed pitcher.
