The Yankees will do anything to get their hands on Yoshinobu Yamamoto

After a disastrous season, the New York Yankees will have to find solutions during the off-season so that the situation does not repeat itself in 2024.

And one of them could very well be to get your hands on Japanese star Yoshinobu Yamamoto.

Just this weekend, in the presence of several MLB executives, including Bombardiers general manager Brian Cashman, the Japanese pitcher threw a no-hitter for the Orix Buffaloes.

It was the second no-hitter for the 25-year-old right-handed pitcher, who is expected to be made available to MLB teams this winter.

The presence of Cashman in Japan is not unrelated to the fact that the Yankees will do everything in their power to get their hands on Yamamoto, according to what certain sources told Yahoo Sports Japan.

If this had not been the case, the CEO would have stayed warm in America instead of making a 10,826 kilometer trip.

The offer the Japanese will receive from the Yankees should be significantly higher than the total of $ 155 million over seven years that Masahiro Tanaka was able to bank after arriving in the Bronx during the 2013 off-season.

The Yankees will also be in the Shohei Ohtani derby this winter, but the focus is currently on Yamamoto, which is much more realistic for them, especially from a financial point of view.

The latter has a record of 14 wins against 5 losses with an earned run average of 1.26 and 145 strikeouts in 143 innings of work this season.

The starter was part of the Japanese team that won the World Baseball Classic, going 1-0 with a 2.45 ERA in two starts and one appearance in relief.

With a lack of performance behind Gerrit Cole, the Yankees will need help in the starting rotation and Yamamoto could prove to be the perfect fit.
