Chris Bassitt would like to see Mike Trout traded to Philadelphia

With the departure of Shohei Ohtani to the enemy side, outfielder Mike Trout would perhaps like to leave the organization which will not be able to offer him anything by the end of his career.

If so, he wouldn't be the only one to want to move elsewhere.

Indeed, current Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Chris Bassitt would like to see the Los Angeles Angels trade the superstar to the Philadelphia Phillies following the loss of the Japanese prodigy on the free agent market.

This is what the gunner told the MLB Network host and podcaster at Jomboy Media, Chris Rose.

I would love to see him in Philly. I know it's kind of his hometown. Him and Bryce Harper, I wouldn't want to face them. Trout is arguably one of the top five players of all time, in my opinion. I would love to have the opportunity to see him on a team that plays until October. He deserves it, the baseball world deserves it. Everyone deserves to see him go far in the playoffs.

One thing is certain, Trout would certainly like to be in Philadelphia, he who is often seen at Philadelphia Eagles games during the off-season and who does not hesitate to show his allegiance.

Additionally, the representatives of the City of Brotherly Love have a glaring need in center field and adding an outfielder of the caliber of the 32-year-old would only strengthen an already very solid lineup.

If this were to come true, the Phillies would be one of the favorites, or even the favorites in all of MLB to win the World Series.

However, the Angels said they were not trading their star. And who knows if the Phillies could actually afford to add a lucrative contract that ends in 2030.

But Bassitt's wish makes a lot of sense.
