
Several thousand kilometers apart, two Serbs are about to be on top of the world. On the Denver side, it’s Nikola Jokic, who could win his first NBA title on Monday night, in front of his audience. Sunday, at Roland-Garros, his compatriot Novak Djokovic could become the absolute record holder for Grand Slam titles with a 23rd tournament.
After the win over the Heat in Game 4, Jokic was asked about Serbia winning in sports.
“Actually, Novak texted me. For real. He texted me. He didn’t lie.” enthuses Jokic. “He’s amazing, of course in his sport, and he makes history every time. Serbia in the stands
Another well-known Serbian sportsman, Bogdan Bogdanovic. Jokic’s teammate in the Serbia jersey, the Hawks fullback sat in the Jokic corner, with the brothers and relatives of the double MVP.
“To be honest, it’s been like this since my freshman year…I try to keep in touch with anyone who speaks my language” continues Jokic. “Some maybe a little more, some a little less, but I try to keep in touch with everyone. I don’t think he came from Belgrade, to be honest. I think he stayed in Miami. Maybe he likes Miami more. He’s a good friend, and I’m happy since the previous match, there was Vucevic, too. So I have a few friends in the stands. »
