NCAA | Mo Williams, future Jackson State coach?

It will now be four years since Mo Williams began his retraining as a coach. First assistant at Cal State Northridge from 2018 to 2020, the former point guard, champion with the Cavs in 2016, then took charge of the Alabama State Hornets as “head coach”, where he currently has a record of 11 wins for 34 losses.

At the time, he praised his proximity to the state of Alabama where his mother was born and where he studied. It could be the same for his next experience in the NCAA sincehe is announced as the future coach of Jackson State, in the capital of the neighboring state of Mississippi, where he was born. Mo Williams would indeed hold the rope to replace the current coach Wayne Brent who should retire at the end of the season.

Like Alabama State, the University of Jackson is an “HBCU” (“Historically Black Colleges and Universities”), named after those universities which welcomed black students during the time of segregation and which continue to guarantee the education of high school students. disadvantaged from minority backgrounds, with 75% of HBCU students coming from low or very low income families.
