What future for Malik Beasley in the NBA, a few days before the opening of the free agency ? Several franchises (the Magic, the Rockets and the Warriors) are already interested in his services, and now the Bleacher Report adds that the Bucks should have difficulty re-signing him this summer.
Suffice to say that a return from the rear to Milwaukee seems unlikely, coming off a season averaging 11.3 points, and 41% 3-point success. Performances which should allow him to earn more than the minimum salary over one year, which he had to be content with last summer, after a failed second part of the exercise with the Lakers in 2022/23.
Mainly renowned for his quality 3-point shooting (present in the Top 15 in volume and in the Top 25 in percentage this season), Malik Beasley however suffers in defense and his limitations – which ultimately cost him his starting place at the Bucks at the end of the year – have something to give potentially interested teams pause for thought. In particular the biggest teams in the league…
But the key to today's basketball remains spreading the play and hitting 3-pointers, and Malik Beasley has a role to play.
