As expected, things are moving a lot on the Philadelphia side. Andre Drummond and Eric Gordon arrive, Kelly Oubre Jr. remains and the Sixers especially have Paul George, who officially left the Clippers, in their sights. And Nicolas Batum in all of that ?
The Frenchman was useful last season, notably with his 20-point outing in the play-in against Miami, but, according to information from The Athletiche is not going to extend his adventure in Philadelphia.
The 35-year-old winger will therefore find himself free, after a season like no other. For what future? His priority is obviously the Olympic Games with France, which begin at the end of the month, but his NBA career is still in limbo. Except that Yahoo! Sports reports that he would be on the Spurs shelves, and he would be a valuable asset due to his experience, but also his altruism. After Tony Parker, Boris Diaw or even Joffrey Lauvergne and of course Victor Wembanyama, will he be a new member of the “French Connection” of San Antonio?
Uncertainty remains
But perhaps he has also just played his last career season, and he prefers to finish this summer at the Games in Paris and why not with a new medal.
“It’s my last year of contract, my 16th year, so we’ll see what happens at the end of the season. I've done a lot of things in the NBA. I'm trying to focus on this season, and we'll see what happens after this season. Maybe I'll stay, maybe not. I do not know yet “, Nicolas Batum had declared before the start of this 2023/24 financial year.
