The good news had been linked for Kristaps Porzingis between his arrival for Boston, a contract extension and the prospect of preparing for the World Cup with a Latvia with an outsider profile. But a foot injury (plantar fasciitis) has turned his summer plans upside down, and KP must therefore go back to the Infirmary box as he explained to the Sporta Studija media.
The Latvian interior confided in the nature and characteristics of this unusual injury, apparently due to too much stress on the arch of the foot.
“My foot hurts after every exercise. When I walk, I hardly feel anything. It’s a really special injury.”, he explained. “I have an idea where the injury came from, but it’s something that builds up over a career and comes out at some point. It got worse during the training period. When I started having pain, I couldn’t get rid of the inflammation either”.

The pain had become incompatible with the practice of regular training with Latvia and forced him to observe rest and withdraw from the World Cup. But no question for the former interior of the Mavericks to abandon the adventure with his family. He will also be with them during the competition to support them, a choice finally validated by the Celtics who would have liked to recover him more quickly.
“Boston wanted me to continue my recovery there, but I told them that it was very important for me to be with the national team even if I wasn’t playing. They supported my decision”he added. “It’s important now to spend time with my national team mates and my family at home. Boston respected all of that and supported me.”
After the announcement of his package, Boston had specified that his recovery would require four to six weeks of rehabilitation and that he would be ready for the start of training camp with his new team. A timing confirmed by the person concerned, who will take advantage of the next few weeks to slowly increase in power.
“The feelings are good. Of course, I am not yet in a form that allows me to play and train fully. But little by little, everything should be back to normal by the start of the season.
