Here (already) Taj Gibson is back in New York!

A place on Tom Thibodeau's staff is already waiting for him but, for the moment, Taj Gibson regains a place in the squad of his favorite coach, since ESPN reports that the Knicks have once again recovered their favorite veteran, through an initial ten-day contract.

At 38 years old, the New York interior is therefore offering a new freelance role in the “Big Apple” after having played ten matches with new York during December (1.4 point and 1.8 rebound on average). A true firefighter on duty, this time he is recalled to compensate for the injury of Julius Randle, added to that of Mitchell Robinson in the franchise's racket.

A very weakened racket

Particularly appreciated in the Knicks locker room, given his enthusiasm, his professionalism and his aggressiveness, Taj Gibson will temporarily support Isaiah Hartenstein, Jericho Sims and Precious Achiuwa inside. Perhaps this time it will be his last experience as a player, before he visibly moves towards a career in coaching.

Two weeks ago, Thibodeau praised his qualities at the time of his dismissal. We imagine that he could repeat the same thing, word for word, when he found it: “He was incredible, and that doesn’t surprise any of us. Whether he's in the rotation or not, he's brought a lot to our team. He's the ultimate pro. A consummate pro. And what's more, he's an incredible person. “It’s one of the unfortunate parts of our job, but it’s great.”
