According to ESPN, the Suns, who continue to clean up their organization, have hired Gerald Madkins to fill the role of assistant GM. A function he had already fulfilled with the Knicks, Clippers and Pelicans, at the time still called the Hornets.
Former UCLA also passed by Cleveland or Golden State in the league, Gerald Madkins had also served as a scout for the Seattle Supersonics, the Rockets but also for the Knicks between 2003 and 2007 where he had notably worked alongside Isiah Thomas. He would notably be behind the choice of Trevor Ariza in 43rd position during the 2004 Draft.
This is the second major addition to the Suns front office since Mat Ishbia took over in February. Earlier this month, we learned of the arrival of Josh Bartelstein as the new general manager, who will oversee commercial and basketball operations alongside the owner.
