Finally, Montrezl Harrell extends to the Sixers

Strange decision on the part of Montrezl Harrell, which had used its clause to test the market. As he comes out of his worst career season as an understudy for Joel Embiid, and the franchise has just recruited Mo Bamba, the former best sixth man in the NBA has decided to extend! No doubt he has not found better elsewhere, and that Nick Nurse reassured him about his role next season.

At any rate, ESPN announces that Montrezl Harrell has signed up for one more season, and it will be at minimum wage. If Paul Reed, protected free agent, is extended by Philadelphia, Montrezl Harrell will have to fight for minutes, and it is really not certain that he plays more than this season.

After the elimination of the Sixers against the Celtics, Doc Rivers explained his choice to trust Paul Reed, rather than Montrezl Harrell.

“At the start of the season, James (Harden) didn’t want anyone but Trez on the pitch because he felt he was a better striker. We tried to convince him that we also needed defense with this group. »

The message has passed for Montrezl Harrell, and maybe, at 29, he will finally focus on defense.
