Dwight Howard would see himself at the Kings

Even if Domantas Sabonis had an exceptional season, to the point of being selected in one of the three All-NBA Teams, the Lithuanian would not have refused a helping hand under the panels. As Alex Len and Richaun Holmes did not help him too much, here is that Dwight Howard is offering his services to the Kings for next season.

Unlike Carmelo Anthony, the former All-Star center did not retire, and he spent the season in Taiwan. But for him, it was only a parenthesis and he would see himself returning to the NBA and more specifically to Sacramento.

“I’m not retired from the NBA yet” does he confirm at the Sacramento Observer. “I would like to help the Sacramento Kings to play for the title. Although I think their team is already well built. »

Admiring Mike Brown

In Sacramento, Dwight Howard could find Mike Brown whom he quickly crossed paths with at the Lakers. That was over ten years ago… “I’m not really surprised by their success. I like Mike Brown. He’s an incredible coach, and what he’s accomplished this year is truly impressive. »

At 37, Dwight Howard has not played in the NBA since April 2022, and he was playing at the Lakers at the time. NBA champion in 2020, he averaged 6 points and 6 rebounds there, in rotation of Anthony Davis.

For him, the Kings draw their strength from “role players” and recruits involved in a common project. “What impressed us the most this year were the commitments signed by the players, who accept their role and stick to it no matter what. I think they will continue to improve with experience. »

And Dwight Howard would see himself bringing this experience, like Matthew Dellavedova this season.
