The Nets finished December with eleven straight wins, and Jacques Vaughn is very logically elected Coach Of The Month. Throughout the month of December, Kevin Durant and his teammates won 12 out of 13 games, and Vaughn quickly made people forget Steve Nash, but also his team’s failed start to the season.
Awarded for the first time in his career, Vaughn guided his roster to the best monthly record in Nets history, and his players finished No. 1 in points per game (119.7 pts/m), shooting percentage and 3 -points (54% and 42.2%), but also to offensive efficiency (120.5 pts out of 100 possessions).
In the West, the NBA has chosen to reward the good record of the Pelicans, installed on the podium of the Western Conference. At the head of the team for a year, Willie Green allowed his players to win 10 out of 14 games, and he is only the 4th coach in franchise history to win this award. Before him, only Monty Williams (2011), Byron Scott (2008), and the late Paul Silas (2003) had been elected.
