Bones Hyland: ‘Nikola Jokic watches horses all day’

“It’s crazy, we don’t know anything else about him apart from his passion for horses. I’m his teammate, but that’s all I know about him. He’s on his phone, watching horses all day.”, said the Nuggets’ sophomore point guard. “Before arriving in Denver, I had no preconceptions about him, I was not trying to find out how he could be. And when I saw it in person, it didn’t even look real! I was like, “You’re a double MVP and you’re like that? “.

Bones Hyland has never seen his teammate put his status as double MVP title forward. The leader thus describes him as the gentleman par excellence who makes him the perfect teammate, the leader on whom any franchise would dream of relying.

“Even if he comes out of an MVP title, the guy is very humble, he doesn’t want to talk about the awards, it’s direct work. It’s all for the team and for the win. Everything else, all the personal accolades, I’m not going to say he doesn’t care, but he doesn’t talk about it. He doesn’t want to talk about it.”added Bones Hyland. “He’s like, ‘OK, let’s put that aside. I just want to win an NBA championship title, several titles even. It’s really his day-to-day approach (…). We all want a player like that as the leader of his franchise”.
