The interior, who is averaging more than 23 points and 10 rebounds in her junior year, had already scored 43 points in her first preseason game and had distinguished herself by amassing two 38-point games more recently. Unplayable from the top of her 2 meters, and mobile enough to play the counter-attacks at the low post, she gave the Sooners a nightmare this time, taking over almost all their preferential positions near the circle, with a simple game but terribly effective.
“For two days, we have only worked on the transition. Setting up our defense first, then knowing who is where, knowing our job, doing it, communicating… And we executed it so well in this game.”, she pointed out. “(Scorer 61 points) It’s crazy, I’m grateful to the people around me for their trust, to my coach. Ayoka Lee (23/30 in shooting and 15/17 in throws) erases from the shelves the 60 points of Cindy Brown in 1987 and Rachel Banham in 2016. Suffice to say that we will have to hang on to go and take away her record!
