The day after the announcement of the holders for the All-Star Game 2022, Nike revealed the three sets of jerseys that the various participants in the All-Star Weekend will wear. A weekend like no other since the NBA will continue to celebrate its 75th anniversary.
It will start with the very distinct outfits of the All-Star Celebrity Game. Signed Converse, the jerseys were designed by young creatives, including teenagers, and their mission was to draw on the cultural differences between East and West. For the East, it’s the “blue collar” side of certain cities and street art. For the West, it was about highlighting 90s pop culture, like movies, TV and music.
For the Rising Stars, for which the NBA has unveiled a new formula, it is Nike that draws the four jerseys and it is much more sober with all the same blue to represent Lake Erie, and red which symbolizes Cleveland on each outfit.
Finally, for the All Star Game, it’s Jordan Brand who sticks to it with ” a typo that is inspired by the architecture of the city’s bridges and pays homage to the classic All-Star uniforms of the late 80s and early 90s“. The colors are taken from the silvery prismatic sparkle of a diamond“. Their particularity: a unique, creped fabric with a new Trilobal “Iridescent Shine” yarn that creates a color-changing effect depending on the light.
