Nick Chubb joins the Houston Texans

Nick Chubb (RB) is committed to the Texans! The news had been in the air since this weekend and was confirmed this Monday. According to Ian Rapoport from NFL Media, the runner joins Texas for a year and 2.5 million dollars. A salary that could go up to 5 million if Nick Chubb achieves certain objectives.

It is therefore a new start for Chubb after 7 seasons; 4 selections in Pro Bowl and a selection in the All-Pro number 2 team (unjustly snubbed by team 1) at the Browns of Cleveland. During his adventure in Cleveland, the player ran for 6843 yards, 51 touchdowns and an excellent average 5.1 yards per race. An average that could have been much higher without last year's drop in diet (3.3 yards per race) linked to its recent injuries.

Nick Chubb and his state of health

Indeed, the main question around the runner remains his ability to remain healthy. Bravely injured in the knee in 2023, Nick Chubb only returned 7 in the 2024 season. And after 8 games, the native of Georgia was again injured on weekdays 14. Since then, Nick Chubb has not played.

During these 6 games in 2024, the player sometimes seemed borrowed and above all less lively in his support. Will any more offsend help him regain the pace? In any case, this is the bet of the Texans.

A little risky bet for Demeco Ryans franchise (coach). The attack already has its number 1 runner in the person of Joe Mixon. The player also comes out of one of his best career seasons with 1325 yards and 12 touchdowns. The team is therefore looking for a number 2 to make Mixon breathe.

If Nick Chubb returns in shape, it will allow the Texans to have one of the best number 2 runners in the league.
