Victor Wembanyama and Chris Paul Associés for the Skills Challenge

Like last year, Victor Wembanyama will double his participation in the All-Star Game. Invited for the first time for the star match, or rather the star matches now on Sunday, the interior of the Spurs will also take part in the Skills Challenge as he had done in 2024, assures Chris Haynes.

Associated with Paulo Banchero and Anthony Edwards in 2024, the French will this time team up with his partner in San Antonio, Chris Paul.

We do not yet know who will accompany the tandem … or even if someone will do, while the formula of this skills Challenge is still quite vague. We only know the James Father and Son had refused the invitation to this competition. This new participation of Victor Wembanyama will be an opportunity to test his growing popularity rating in the NBA a little more, he who will not make the total since he was replaced for the “Rising Stars Challenge” on Friday because he was retained for the All-Star Game of “Grands”.

Victor Wembanyama in the footsteps of “TP”?

He could also have the opportunity to be more to his advantage than in 2024, where Anthony Edwards had not shown a lot of seriousness and had led the “Wemby” team to an elimination in the first round of the test, won by the team pacers composed of Tyrese Haliburton, Myles Turner and Benédict Mathurin.

For Chris Paul, it will be his fifth participation in this competition, the first since 2011. He should thus become alone the record holder of presence at the Skills Challenge which he shares until then with the former star of Wizards John Wall. What offer him the opportunity to raise the trophy for the first time in his career.

Victor Wembanyama could become the second tricolor to achieve it after Tony Parker in 2012.
