Through the NHL: News from Kirill Kaprizov and Andrew Mangiapane

Kirill Kaprizov did not participate in practice with the Minnesota Wild on Monday as a precaution.

The forward was shot by Frédérick Gaudreau on an ankle in the third period in the Wild’s 3-2 overtime win over the Colorado Avalanche.

The Russian made it with difficulty to his bench. He made his next shift, but then left for the Wild locker room and did not play in overtime.

“There’s no problem with Kirill,” Wild head coach Dean Evason said. “He’s not going to skate today (Monday), but he’s fine. »

Kaprizov’s condition will be assessed daily and the Wild are likely to sideline him as a precaution.

“We will make sure we do the right things,” Evason added. “In all honesty, I don’t think he’s going to play again until our next home game. »

The Wild will play its next four preparatory meetings abroad. Their next game at the Xcel Energy Center is October 6 against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Mangiapane skates for the first time in a group

Andrew Mangiapane skated with his teammates for the very first time in training camp.

The 26-year-old striker has been sidelined since the start of camp with an injury that has not been disclosed by the team.

Mangiapane appeared in all 82 regular season games for the Flames last season, setting career highs for goals (35) and assists (20).

Leafs injury news

Adam Gaudette suffered a shoulder injury and did not participate in practice with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The forward was injured in a collision with Ottawa Senators defenseman Travis Hamonic in Saturday’s game. However, he remained in the game and was used for 15:58.

For their part, Pierre Engvall and defender Jake Muzzin each skated on a separate rink from the main group.

Engvall is recovering from a foot injury sustained in the offseason. He should be reassessed next week.

Veteran Muzzin was sidelined from practices on Thursday and Friday due to back pain. He was limited to 47 regular season games last year. He suffered two concussions and another injury undisclosed by the team.
