Todd Monken named new Ravens offensive coordinator

The two-time defending college champion with Georgia arrives in Pennsylvania.

The Ravens announced on Tuesday that they have recruited Todd Monken as offensive coordinator. Monken, 57, was offensive coordinator for the University of Georgia, a two-time defending college champion. The team averaged 501.1 yards and 40.7 points per game last season.

The new staff member of the franchise will have the difficult task of reviving an attack in decline. From 33.2 points per game in 2019, the year quarterback Lamar Jackson was named MVP, the team had fallen this season to an average of 20.6 points per game for Greg Roseman’s fourth season.

Monken becomes the seventh offensive coordinator to serve in Baltimore under head coach John Harbaugh. He arrives in office at a time of uncertainty since the fate of Lamar Jackson in Baltimore is uncertain. He had already served as coordinator at Tampa Bay from 2016 to 2018 and at the Browns in 2019.

“We conducted 21 interviews with 14 candidates through a strict process,” Harbaugh said of the hire. “Todd’s leadership and coaching pedigree has been evident from the start. He has a known history of setting up and passing on offensive systems that allow players to play their best,” added the Super Bowl XLVII winner.
