The Colts send Carson Wentz to Washington!

Just over a year after being sent to Indianapolis by the Eagles, Carson Wentz is hitting the road again. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Colts sent their quarterback to Washington for upcoming draft picks, including two third-round picks. The Commanders will pay Wentz’s full salary of more than $80 million over the next 3 seasons.

Last season, at the Colts, Wentz completed 62.4% of his passes, for 3,563 yards, 27 touchdowns and 7 interceptions, for a record of 9 wins and 8 losses. The season was pretty good in Indiana, before the Colts cracked at the end of the season and missed the playoffs.

The Commanders still hold Wentz as their new starting quarterback. The 29-year-old pitcher returns to the NFC East, a division he worked with Philadelphia for 5 seasons. With no disrespect to Taylor Heinicke, Carson Wentz is still a cut above when it comes to leading an NFL offense. But he still doesn’t seem in a position to take Washington to the top.
