Players of the Month: Justin Jefferson, King of November

For the second consecutive season, the Vikings receiver was named offensive player of the penultimate month of the year.

Decidedly Justin Jefferson is in shape for the month of Thanksgiving. Over the three years of his young career, he was nominated for a second time as NFC Offensive Player of the Month. Great craftsman of the Vikings’ very good season, Jefferson distinguished himself by a reception as important as it was spectacular against the Bills. He was also consistent, finishing three of four games with over 100 receiving yards.

Of the three games they have played this month, the 49ers have never conceded more than 16 points. An impressive performance that they owe in large part to the good form of Nick Bosa. With a sack in each of these games, the defensive end has well deserved to win his second player of the month title, after that obtained for his performances as a rookie in October 2019.

In AFC, we find a regular, the one who goes straight to the title of MVP. Patrick Mahomes has already won his fifth player of the month award. Only Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers and Peyton Manning have done better. With four games won in as many played, Mahomes, without being perfect since he was intercepted 3 times, continues to carry Kansas City to a new first place in the AFC. For the defense, we stay in AFC West since it is the Chargers safety, Derwin James who is rewarded. In a franchise that is struggling to chain good results, James appears more than ever as a sure bet for this defensive squad.

As for the rookies, it’s the NFC North that is celebrating. Christian Watson will have taken his time, but he ended up connecting with Aaron Rodgers. His 289 yards and six receiving touchdowns allowed him to be named offensive rookie of the month. In defense, Aidan Hutchinson symbolizes the good period of the Lions with three victories out of the three games in which he participated. His absence against the Bills was felt.
