New England Patriots (11-2) – New York Giants (2-11): 33-15
There was never a match on Monday. Carried by an excellent Drake Maye (24/31, 282 yards, 2TD) and overall very good squads in all phases of the game, the Patriots rolled over the Giants. At halftime, the AFC leaders were already leading 30 to 7. Thank you, goodbye.
Opposite, Jaxson Dart (17/24, 139 yards, 1TD; 4 races, 20 yards) was not unworthy for his return. But lonely in attack, and especially let down by his defense and the special team, there was nothing to do.
Drake MVP Maye
The first half allowed the Patriots to shine in all phases of the game. On the special team, Marcus Jones scores the first touchdown of the evening with a 94-yard punt return!
In defense, Mike Vrabel's men leave the opposing attack no chance. 3 forced punts, 2 turnovers on downs… There was only a nice touchdown from Darius Slayton (2 rec, 41 yards, 1TD) on a 30-yard catch and run to save the honor of the Giants. The defense also manages Jaxson Dart's exits from the pocket very well and does not hesitate to punish him when the rookie tries a little too much.
In attack, Drake Maye delights. The thrower alternates passes with precision and ease. Despite absences on his offensive line, he manages the pocket perfectly. The 2nd year quarterback led his team to 5 series with points: 3 field goals and 2 touchdowns. This allows the Patriots to lead 30 to 7 at halftime without having sweated a single second…
Drake Maye particularly stands out with his two touchdowns thrown with perfect passes to Kayshon Boutte and Kyle Williams.

Opposite, the Giants are just overwhelmed in all areas of play. Once again, the defense disappoints enormously, unable to put pressure (0 sack, 0qb hit at half-time) on an offensive line deprived of two starters…
Head to rest
With such a gap, the second half is necessarily less intense. New York tries to revive in the middle of the 3rd quarter with a touchdown (15-30). It's Devin Singletary (12 races, 68 yards, 1TD), who on a clever play, takes the snap directly and runs 22 yards for the touchdown. The New Yorker highlights what is perhaps one of the few weak points of this defense in recent weeks. Since the injury to Milton Williams (DT), the Pats seem a little more vulnerable on the ground.
But New York will not be able to do more with punts and a missed 4th.
For their part, the Patriots essentially managed. If they miss a field goal at the start of the half, the Pats add one (15-33) 2 minutes from the end to bury any (illusory) hope of a comeback for the Giants. Please note, however, that this kick arrives after another inconclusive drive in the red zone. One of the flaws to watch for this New England team.
With this victory, New England regains control of the AFC just before its bye week.
