Jaguars – Colts (24-0): Trevor Lawrence humiliates the Colts

Jacksonville Jaguars (1-1) – Indianapolis Colts (0-1-1): 24-0

For the eighth time in a row, Jacksonville won at home against the Colts, but the difference this time was that Jacksonville dominated the game head and shoulders, humiliating division rivals the Colts.

Trevor Lawrence (25/30, 235 yards, 2 TD) had the best game of his career, making the most of his targets. Under the impetus of Doug Pederson, it is the whole group which also managed an excellent match, on both sides of the field, mixing aggressiveness and efficiency. Hope is back in Florida, it’s been a long time!

For the Colts it is already a state of emergency. After two divisional matches, Indianapolis is still waiting for a first victory. Matt Ryan (16/30, 195 yards, 3 INT) was catastrophic, both on throws and pocket management, and the lack of targets is glaring. The coaching also leaves doubtful, Reich seeming to have forgotten the running game and Jonathan Taylor (54 yards in…9 races), yet his best player on paper.

A one-sided game

Throughout the first half, there was only one team on the field, the surprise being that that team was the Jacksonville Jaguars. In attack first, Trevor Lawrence takes care of the air while James Robinson (78 yards, 1 TD) takes care of the ground. A simple game plan that Indianapolis can’t contain. The use of “play-action” in particular wreaked havoc with Christian Kirk (78 yards, 2 TD), author of the first touchdown before James Robinson imitated him in the race (14-0).

The Colts offense can’t respond, especially a Matt Ryan not helped by his line and his receivers. Josh Allen (2 sacks) takes advantage of this and comes to hunt the former MVP twice, symbol of a domination of the front seven of the Jaguars. Ryan is not blameless, as he ended the first offensive drive himself with an interception as an offering for Rayshawn Jenkins.
With a new field goal, Jacksonville returns to the locker room with a 17-point lead. 197 yards against 71, there is no match.

Jacksonville don’t give up

The second half begins like the first, Doug Pederson’s Jags are in control. The Etienne / Robinson duo on the ground, but also Lawrence who finds Christian Kirk again for a touchdown (24-0).

Then begins an endgame between a team that wants to eat the clock and another that wants to save the honor. If the Colts advance, thanks in particular to Ashton Dulin (79 yards) and Nyheim Hynes (37 yards), they will not score points. The fault of failures in the fourth attempt and two new interceptions by Matt Ryan, this time the work of Devin Lloyd and Andre Cisco.

A comfortable victory for the Jaguars, dominating from start to finish!
