Vikings: JJ McCarthy will come out of post-concussion protocol
Kevin O'Connell (HC, Vikings) announced that his quarterback JJ McCarthy no longer has symptoms, and that he should come out of the post-concussion protocol this week. According to ESPNthat puts him in position to resume his role leading Minnesota's offense in time to face the Commanders in Week 14.
In his absence, Max Brosmer did not shine. An undrafted rookie who benefits from a good internal reputation, Brosmer suffered in his first start in the NFL. 4 interceptions and a shutout which are a bit difficult. The Viks therefore only have the hope of a quick return from McCarthy to try to save what can still be saved.
Cardinals: Kyler Murray not ready for a return
Placed on the injured list more than 4 weeks ago, Kyler Murray (QB) is technically able to come off the injured list. But that won't be the case. His coach, Jonathan Gannon, explained at a press conference that his quarterback is not ready to come off the injured list.
As a reminder, Murray has a foot injury. Not sure that the quarterback will really return this season and the rumors of a possible departure of the player could also have an impact.
Lions: uncertainty around Amon-Ra St.Brown, injury list for Arnold
With an ankle injury since Thanksgiving, Amon-Ra St.Brown (WR) did not practice Monday. While no long-term injury is feared, his status for the next match remains uncertain. Because the Lions play this Thursday evening against the Cowboys.
The recipient therefore only has 2 days left to be fit. His absence would be a loss for the offense, St. Brown has 75 receptions, 884 yards and 9 touchdowns in 12 games this season.
On the other hand, the case of Terrion Arnold (CB) does not suffer from doubt. The cornerback is placed on injured reserve with a shoulder injury. The Lions are talking about being out of action for the rest of the season.
Bills: pain for Joey Bosa
This Sunday, Joey Bosa was again decisive with a sack and a caused fumble to help the Bills in their victory. But the player felt pain during the match and doubt has hovered around ever since.
Bosa reportedly injured his hamstring. Sean McDermott (HC) admitted that for the moment the defender is uncertain for this weekend's match against the Bengals.
Possible bad news for the Bills defense. Because Joey Bosa is certainly one of the satisfactions of the season with 5 sacks and 5 forced fumbles this year.
Browns: end of season for Maliek Collins
We first thought it was a knee injury, but it was a quadriceps problem suffered by Maliek Collins (DL, Browns). According to the Akron Beacon Journalsurgery will be necessary, and therefore his season is over. A hard blow for the player who had until then had his best career season with 6.5 sacks and 12 QB Hits, as well as for the interior of the defensive line.
Packers: end of season for Devonte Wyatt
We suspected it following his injury exit at Thanksgiving, but Devonte Wyatt (DT) will not return this year. The defender suffers a significant ankle injury which ends his season.
A hard blow for the Packers defense because Wyatt had taken advantage of the departure of Kenny Clark to assert himself as an important piece of this defense.
Steelers: Patrick Queen will quickly return
During the defeat against the Bills, the Steelers had to deal with the release of Patrick Queen (LB). But NFL Media announces that the linebacker will not be absent for long. He reportedly has a bruise on his lower back. Further testing is still required, but it is not expected to be a long-term injury.
Selected by the Ravens in the 2020 draft, the two-time Pro Bowler has never missed a game due to injury. In 12 games this year, he recorded 89 tackles including 5 for loss, 1 sack, and 4 broken passes.
Falcons: Drake London in week 14?
Raheem Morris (HC, Falcons) warned the press on Monday that the medical status of Drake London (WR) is evolving. The receiver will be evaluated on a day-to-day basis, after missing the last two games with a knee injury. Even better, Morris teased a potential return for Week 14.
“We need to see him move around a little bit this week,” Morris told the team website.
Commanders: quarterback and play calling
Dan Quinn (HC) explained at a press conference that Jayden Daniels (QB) could return in week 14. However, the coach also recognizes that his pitcher has not yet been declared fit to resume contact training. This week of training will therefore be decisive. Otherwise, Marcus Mariota will start again.
Another topic, Quinn is thinking about keeping the role of defensive playcaller. The coach has given himself the end of the season and next off-season to decide. It must be said that since he took over this role in week 11, the Commanders' defense is in better shape.
It went from 28th in points conceded and 31st in yards conceded to 14th and 25.
Texans: Jaylen Reed broke a metal plate in his forearm
Football is a violent sport, and this weekend brought yet another example of that. According to KPRC2, Jaylen Reed (S) broke a metal plate in his forearm against the Colts. This plaque had been in place since his years at Penn State, due to injury.
For the moment the duration of the absence of the sixth round 2025 is not known, but surgery will be necessary. An appearance on the injured list cannot therefore be ruled out. Reed played in seven games in 2025. He produced 14 tackles and recovered 1 fumble.
Vikings cut Adam Thielen
The Vikings have officially announced the cut of veteran Adam Thielen (WR). The receiver had asked to be released, and the club obviously accepted his request. Thielen has already announced that this is his last NFL campaign.
At 35 years old, he was traded in the offseason by the Panthers to return to Minnesota. However, as the Vikings looked to stabilize their receiving corps, Thielen produced very little (69 yards, 0 touchdowns).
