However, the linebacker established himself during his university career as a talented and reliable player. After playing safety in high school and being recruited as such by UConn, Beavers also played defensive end during his sophomore season. After his transfer to Cincinnati he revealed himself fully as a linebacker. A versatility that in addition to having forged his knowledge of the game makes him versatile and able to contribute in different schemes. With a high football IQ, Beavers deciphers the game wonderfully. Whether on race concepts, zone coverage or in a pass rush situation, his reading quality is a major asset.
