Dolphins extend Bradley Chubb for 5 years and 119 million

It didn’t take long for the Dolphins to lock in their new acquisition. After luring Bradley Chubb in a trade from Denver earlier this week, the franchise has extended the player for 5 years and $119 million according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The contract provides for a guaranteed amount of 63.2 million. In the final year of his rookie contract, the 26-year-old would have been a free agent next March.

General manager Chris Grier and the player’s agent would have ratified the agreement immediately in the wake of the arrival of the pass rusher. The amount may seem high, for a player who has only had one full season and has not exceeded 10 sacks since his rookie year, but it goes in the direction of the inflation of NFL contracts which is accelerated.

Since arriving in the NFL as the 5th overall pick of the 2018 draft, Chubb has participated in 49 matches, made 170 tackles including 26 sacks. In Miami, he will compose an association which makes salivate with the promising Jaelan Phillips, Melvin Ingram and Andrew Van Ginkel.
