While waiting for her signature shoe, A'Ja Wilson reveals her logo at Nike

The secret had been well kept for more than a year. And it's now official, after Breanna Stewart with Puma or Sabrina Ionescu with Nike (and while waiting for Caitlin Clark), A'Ja Wilson will be the next WNBA superstar to benefit from a signature shoe. This will be called the Nike A'One and its release, scheduled for spring 2025, will be accompanied by a clothing line.

“I found it incredible to work with Nike to realize my dream of having my own collection, and it’s truly an honor to take the next step as a Nike signature athlete.”, A'ja Wilson told Boardroom. “From my logo to the look of the shoe to the pieces in the collection, we made sure every detail perfectly matched my game and style.”

While waiting to discover the official images of her first shoe, the Las Vegas Aces player's logo was revealed this weekend. For the rest, we will have to make do with the few clues given by A'Ja Wilson, who accompanied the process of creating the pair from A to Z.

“The design process with Nike was very rewarding, and I didn't realize how much effort goes into designing a shoe. My biggest requirements were that the shoe be light and comfortable for all the hours I spend on the pitch, and that it also look great”she explained.

In recent years, Nike and other equipment manufacturers have focused on the development of the women's market by honoring many key players, through the creation of signature models or other references. For A'Ja Wilson, this is also one of the main challenges of her collaboration with Nike extended a year ago: supporting young female basketball players in their development and their quest for identity.

“I hope that when girls wear this shoe, they believe in themselves. I want them to lace them up, feel strong and understand that no one can stop them from achieving their dreams. You have to set high goals. Go ahead and go for it, that’s the most important thing. »
