The warriors avoid the Magic hold-up!

After five minutes of play, the two teams combine a poor 3/20 on shots. The Warriors do little better on the rest of the quarter and the 16 points of the Cole Anthony duo (26 points)-Kentavious Caldwell-Pope give 11 points ahead of the Magic (26-15). Despite 6 bullet losses and 9 offensive rebounds given to Orlando, the Warriors manage to stabilize thanks to the aggressiveness of Andrew Wiggins (25 points) and two-point from Brandin Podziemski (32-27).

Moses Moody (17 points) and Dennis Schroder raised the tone and on both sides, and Golden State Recolle at the score (35-35). Paolo Banchero (18 points) then revived Orlando but the defensive activity of Draymond Green allows the Warriors to stay in contact at the break (43-43).

Steve Kerr's men continue their momentum and complete a 14-1 straddling the two half to take control of the match (49-43). After seven failures in a row at 3-point, Stephen Curry (24 points, 7/21 on shots) finally finds the target. Quinten post imitates it on the following action and the Warriors take off (64-51). Paolo Banchero stops the hemorrhage but three new 3-points, this time of Dennis Schroder and Moses Moody, pushed the point (82-67)!

The awakening of Franz Wagner… account for butter

However, the Magic did not say its last word. Transparent since the start of the match, Franz Wagner (21 points, 5 assists) marks 10 points in the first seven minutes of the quarter to launch a 25-8 which air conditions the Chase Center! Cole Anthony follows his step and his two “Floaters” put Orlando in front with four minutes to play (92-90)!

While Stephen Curry is clumsy, the Andrew Wiggins-Kevon Looney (16 rebounds, 6 passes) trio-Draymond Green replied made four stops in a row to launch a 6-0 with unexpected “floaters” to put Golden State ahead ( 96-92). Despite a final Magic Honor Baroud, a 3-point Moody and Stephen Curry's free throws allow the Warriors to hold on before chaining six games on the go before the All-Star Game. The Magic chains a fourth defeat in a row and the ninth in eleven games.

What to remember

– Andrew Wiggins, Kevon Looney, and Moses Moody make the difference. In a match where the Magic took 18 offensive rebounds and 20 more shots than Golden State, the Warriors found a way to win thanks to the contribution of three determining players. Always as aggressive towards the circle since the injury of Jonathan Kuminga, Andrew Wiggins (25 points, 50% on shots, 10/15 with free throws) confirms his good shape of the moment. The Lord Kevon Looney, whether replacement or holder, continues to have a disproportionate impact on his team's matches. That night he took 16 rebounds, including 8 offensive! And finally, Moses Moody confirms his role as a joker at the end of the bench, with 17 points scored at 6/9 on shots. These three players have been decisive in the last two minutes, each marking an important basket to allow Golden State to make the difference.

– Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner on alternating current. The two Magic stars each had their moment but were never good together. Banchero scored 18 points in the first three quarters, before being silent in the last period, while Wagner was 3/10 after three quarters before bringing his team by scoring 14 points in the last quarter . The two players ultimately sign a 13/28 halfway and a terrible 1/11 to 3-point instead of attacking the racket. They only pulled 4 free throws. In total, the Warriors pulled 24 more free throws than their opponents.

– Draymond Green back. Absent since January 18 and after missing the last seven games, Draymond Green was back in the Warriors' departure five tonight. The interior was injured in the calf in the first minutes of the match against Washington on January 18. Despite two weeks without competition, Green brought intensity and energy to defense. In 29 minutes of play, he finished with 4 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists but his impact on the match goes far beyond his statistics. He notably muzzled one of the Orlando stars, Paolo Banchero (9/24 on shots), to make the difference.
