The end of the tunnel is near for Jonathan Isaac

August 2, 2020. In the midst of the Covid crisis, the NBA had resumed in a “bubble” and this is the last time we saw Jonathan Isaac on a field. The unfortunate strong winger of the Magic had again ruptured a ligament in his knee, and it has now been more than 27 months since he played again! At the time, he was one of the best blockers and interceptors in the NBA, and he was promised a bright future as a defenseman.

Twenty-seven months later, his only ambition is to get back on the pitch, and that should be done in the weeks to come since theOrlando Sentinell announces that he has entered the last phase of his return to competition. Like many long-time injured, he has just been sent to the G-League for training, and he will therefore participate in the sessions of the Lakeland Magic.

According to the daily, Isaac will be able to perform five-against-five against players, and it will be a first since his injury. Until now, he was doing five-against-five with members of the technical staff.

“We take it for granted when we are already in good shape and playing so much” Isaac recalls, researching his physical condition. “I finally got to the point where you’re like, ‘OK, we’ve reached this level, everything’s normal, the doctor says everything’s fine, we can start playing.’ I’m so excited, but now that I’m in it, I’m exhausted every day, and I realize how hard it is to get back in shape. That’s what I focus on. I can’t wait for the big day. »
